Welcome

Hello, I am a mom of a 10month old little boy, and I really wanted to be able to network without feeling like I have to make a choice between my little one and my profession. I pray this group can be a place of comfort, nurture, and growth for us mothers to have successful businesses!

Family, Ambition, Inspiration, Balance

So this week has been a CRAZY week, but filled with lots of lessons. Crazy because I am actually getting new business. I have been trying a new marketing technique and for my consulting business it is working. Now working in this sentence only means I am getting calls and maybe 1-2 sales. At this point any sign of life is gratifying. I am using trial version that is soon to be over, so now I am wondering whether to continue (because it is quite costly, but may be worth it in the long run) or if I should experiment with other things. I haven't decided as yet but as soon as I figure out the next step I will let you know.

So back to the week, and the lessons of the week. I found the words Family, Ambition, Inspiration, and Balance and it really made me think how does it all fit together in the grand scheme of things. I won't go into detail today, but I wanted to list them as a food for thought.

1. Entrepreneurship and not only parenting, but how to deal with the husband? He says he understands, but does he really??

2. Taking time for myself, I need the business but at what cost? Certainly not my sanity.

3. Dealing with the business partner, how do you balance each others strengths and weaknesses. What type of conversations need to take place and at what point during the business process? What happens when the excitement of the venture dies down?

4. How to lovingly say, NO. People love to ask you to do things, because they think that your JUST a Stay at Home Mom. I try not to get offended, but I do! However maybe there is an attitude adjustment I need to check.

5. Not letting the computer take over my life......still working on that, lol.

I have heard, on many occasions, that we learn EVERYDAY, but when you sit down and actually start to tally the lessons learned, its just crazy. The days are hard, but there are lessons in those days. And in those lessons there are blessings.

Just food for thought........

I am off to South Fla for a break!

Tears of Joy

So I am racing against the clock.

For one my computer doesn't charge so my husband and I are sharing chargers (he has a new computer from his job aznd I have the old one that hardly works when not plugged in, lol). My Mompreneur initiatives hasn't afforded me the opportunity to expense a computer yet, but soon my friends soon, lol.

Secondly, I had a few new clients call in today, Yipee! This means I have some nonprofit paperwork, accounting, and record keeping duties to complete. All to be done as timely as possible because if there is one thing I learned about being a Mompreneur is that there isn't really room for procrastination!

Thirdly, its almost 2 am and my 10month old just woke up so he is here watching the computer in a daze....

So my lesson is work is never done and hardly easy. Psalm 126:5 says: they that sow in tears shall reap in joy. For me it means I have something to look forward to. God doesn't promise a pathway of roses and daisies, but what he does promise is light at the end of the tunnel. We just have to look toward the future and make decisions that will have long term POSITIVE effects on our lives.

What does it mean for you?

Having a loving heart given all that we have to accomplish

Last night was definitely one of THOSE nights. We got home from a 3year old's Birthday Party around 7pm and I was still full from munching on various items. So I thought maybe we would go home, relax, and watch a movie. However, upon arrival everyone asks me whats for dinner? The baby doesn't talk yet, but I assure you I felt his glare!

Mixing the thoughts between my Left and Right brain, I am intricately desiging a plan that will effectively make everyone happy (including me of course). Dinner is to be made and coincidentally its baby's bath, dinner, and bed time also.

Sometimes I cannot help but to wonder if the Virtuous Woman described is actually a virtue or a curse. It can be overwhelming to be ALL of that, but at the same time the days when you just get it are very uplifting (especially when someone takes notice and gives you a compliment or two).

Not that I do things for the complements, but its nice to feel appreciated by your loved ones, I know you agree :-)

I John 3:1 starts by saying: Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us. You would almost think that this is redundant because the word Behold is saying, "Hey pay attention!". Yet we are indeed reading and feel like we are already paying attention.

It just means that God really wants our attention here. In anything we do we can love with the love of God because what God has done for us overcomes our shortfalls. We don't have to be perfect in all that we do we just press toward the mark of the higher calling of God!

In all situations God's calling is the higher calling. Those nights when I get weary I call on him for strength. When I think that I cannot be that Virtuous Woman, I remember that God says that I can be, thus I am!

The baby is stuck in his toy and has a funny odor, lol....Gotta run and get ready for the day! I pray that your week is fulfilling.

The Virtuous Woman

These are not my words, but this is why I feel women dont have to choose between business life and family life. The link for the full article follows!

When we examine this ancient biblical ideal of womanhood, we do not find the stereotyped housewife occupied with dirty dishes and laundry, her daily life dictated by the demands of her husband and her children. Nor do we find a hardened, overly ambitious career woman who leaves her family to fend for itself.

What we find is a strong, dignified, multitalented, caring woman who is an individual in her own right. This woman has money to invest, servants to look after and real estate to manage. She is her husband’s partner, and she is completely trusted with the responsibility for their lands, property and goods.

She has the business skills to buy and sell in the market, along with the heartfelt sensitivity and compassion to care for and fulfill the needs of people who are less fortunate. Cheerfully and energetically she tackles the challenges each day brings. Her husband and children love and respect her for her kind, generous and caring nature.

But with all her responsibilities, first and foremost, she looks to God. Her primary concern is God’s will in her life. She is a woman after God’s own heart.
